The fifth pillar
The only UK halal investing platform with a built-in Zakat calculator.
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam: an annual obligation to give 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth to those in need, if your wealth has been above the Nisab threshold for one lunar year.
This includes your investments.
Nisab The minimum threshold
Currently £380 (silver) or £5,424 (gold). If your net wealth is below this, no Zakat is due.
Hawl The lunar year
Zakat is only due if your wealth has been above the Nisab threshold for a full Islamic year, which is 354 days.
Rate 2.5% of net zakatable wealth
Everything above the Nisab threshold, after deducting debts and immediate liabilities, at 2.5%.
This calculator provides an estimate. For definitive rulings on your specific situation, consult a qualified Islamic scholar.

Donate nowCan I pay Zakat directly to an individual or family?
Yes, this is permissible, and many scholars consider it more meritorious as it creates a direct connection between giver and recipient. Consult your local mosque or Islamic charity for guidance on finding recipients in your community.
